New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) In view of the recent incidents of terrorist attacks and Naxal violence, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would hold a high-level conference of Chief Ministers on internal security, terrorism and naxalism on December 20.
The meeting would also be attended by Home Minister Shivraj Patil, heads of paramilitary forces and other security agencies.
It would take stock of the internal security scenario in the country. Recent incidents of terror attacks on courts in Uttar Pradesh and religious places like Ajmer Sharif in Rajasthan and Mecca Masjid in Andhra Pradesh would be deliberated upon at the conference. It would also chalk out measures to prevent such terror attacks in future.
Rising network of militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e- Mohammad and Huji in the country, sleeper cells and cross border terrorism would also be focused at the conference.
Incidents of Naxal violence especially in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand which has claimed lives of security personnel and civilians would also be discussed. The Centre and the states would strive to formulate a joint mechanism to deal with them effectively.
