Vadodara, Dec 5 (UNI) Security was tightened at all multiplexes, shopping malls and busy commercial complexes in and around the city today after police commissioner Rajan Priyadarshi issued an order warning the owners to remain vigilant against a possible terrorist attack.

The police chief directed the owners of the malls and multiplexes to frisk all visitors with hand held metal detectors and install close circuit TV cameras at all entry points and the vehicle parking areas to prevent any untoward incident as Gujarat was heading for elections.

Denying reports appearing in a section of the local press that Vadodara city was on the hit list of terrorists, top police sources said there was no such intelligence report. ''In view of the recent serial bomb blasts in Uttar Pradesh, we want to take all sorts of precautionary measures against possible terrorist attack that could jeopardise the assembly elections in the state,'' the sources said.

The police chief also directed all mobile service providers to guard against political SMS campaigns, which violate the model code of conduct.
