Karnataka police recover looted Rs 21.50 lakh from Orissa

Kendrapada, Dec 5 (UNI) The Karnataka police with the help of their counterparts here have recovered Rs 21.50 lakh looted from the house of Amubhai Rukhana, a businessman of High Ground area in Bangalore, in November last.

According to T Chelve Goutam, a police officer of Karnataka, three persons-- Rahul Pradhan, Prakash Pradhan of Belapal village and Banka Swain of Chandiagadei village, who were working as domestic helps decamped with Rs 25 lakh from the businessman's house with the help of one Gulsan Biswal on November 22.

After looting the money,the trio boarded a flight and reached their village Belapala the next day. They hid Rs 21.50 lakh in a suitcase in the backyard of Rahul's house and spent the rest amount, Rajnagar Police station officer in-charge S C Panda said.

The businessman, however, had filed an FIR against his three domestic servants in the High Ground police station in Banagalore.

Acting on the FIR, High Ground police filed a case against all the three persons and sent a police team along with Himanshu Rukhana, the son of the businessman to nab the three accused.

Though the police managed to recover Rs 21.50 lakh during a joint raid with the Kendrapada police but they failed to arrest all the three who were absconding, Mr Panda added.
