JKLF chief to go on two-day hunger strike in Kashmir
Srinagar, Dec 5 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik today announced to go on a two-day hunger strike here from December 9 in protest against the increase in the alleged human rights violations in the troubled state.
Addressing a news conference here, he warned the international community of grave human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
''No practical effect of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement of zero tolerance for human rights violations can be witnessed by the people in Jammu and Kashmir,'' Malik added.
He also announced his programme of observing a two-day hunger strike here from Sunday against the unabated human rights violations in the strife-torn state.
''I will sit on a hunger strike at Maisuma here to remind the Prime Minister of his zero tolerance promise, which has not been implemented till date,'' Malik added.
