New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) With 150 brands from India and abroad participating, Asia's largest furniture fair 'Index Tradefairs' today opened at Pragati Maidan here.
''The December 5-8, 2007 fair will showcase an impressive display of furniture, lighting, fabric and interior fixtures, with over 150 brands from India and abroad,'' the organiser Universal Expositions Group President Liyakat Ali Khan told reporters here.
The eight-billion-dollar furniture market is expected to be the second largest manufacturer and consumer after China in the next five years, he added.
The fair, being held for the second time in the city, aims at assembling products from different part of the world under a common roof with architects, designers, large corporates as the target customers, Mr Khan said.
Major Indian companies participating in the four-day exhibition include Whirlpool, Everyday, Jindal Architecture and My Space, whereas Poala Lenti, Magis, Bissari, La Murrina, Gardesa and Illecamc are some of the international Italian exhibitors.
Index Tradefairs Delhi incorporates two fairs--Index Furniture and Index Interfurn.
While Index Furniture will exhibit finished products, Index Interfurn, supported by the All India Hardware Association will display range of furniture hardware and accessories.
