Allahabad, Dec 5 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today took serious note on the construction of multistory buildings in the Allahabad city.
A bench comprising Justices Amitav Lala and Justice V C Mishra directed the Uttar Pradesh government to initiate vigilance inquiry into the multistory 'Leela Kunj' constructed on Beli road here, by a Baba Sahkari Samiti (builder) in connivance with the Allahabad Development Authority (ADA).
The order was passed on a writ petition filed by Anand Kumar Pandey, a HC lawyer, and four others.
The HC also directed the state government to consider the matter as serious and recommend a CBI probe if necessary.
The bench was prima facie of the opinion that guilty ADA officers, who were hand-in-glove with the builders, shall not be spared.
The HC had yesterday extended the interim order till today against the demolition of 'Leela Kunj.' The apartment is situated at Beli Road here. Kiran Srivastava had filed a writ petition, seeking implementation of an order passed by the zonal officer of Allahabad Development Authority (ADA) for demolition of the 'Leela Kunj' as it was illegally constructed by the builder Baba Sahkari Samiti.
When the ADA started razing the apartment, some lawyers, who had been allotted flats, sought HC intervention.
The petitioners said that they are the bonafide purchaser and were being harassed without any fault.
