New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) A high alert was today sounded in the National Capital amid reports of some militants of a terror outfit entering Delhi to carry out attacks.
''Intelligence Bureau inputs to the Delhi Police say that some people entered Delhi yesterday suspectedly with an intention to carry out terror attacks in the city,''Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said.
The militants, six in number, are said to have entered the city in a white ambassador, from Shahdara border adjacent to Uttar Pradesh.
Consequently, security has been heightened across the National capital.
Police barricades had been put up along all important crossways and a thorough screening of vehicles was being done.
The information comes barely two days after an alert was issued by intelligence agencies about possibility of militants carrying out strikes in the coming two weeks.
The militant movement comes on the eve of the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition.
