Haryana to offer Pre-Engineering course in pvt colleges

Chandigarh, Dec 5 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to offer a Pre-Engineering course (equivalent to 10+2 non medical of Haryana Board of School Education) in private engineering colleges from the next academic session 2008-09.

Director, Haryana Technical Education Department, M P Gupta said that all private engineering colleges located in the state which had dedicated infrastructure such as laboratories and classrooms, as per Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) norms and teachers as per academic requirements of CBSE and HSEB would be eligible for the pre-engineering course.

Mr Gupta said this Pre-Engineering course would be affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education, Haryana and 50 per cent seats in course would be reserved for students who had passed matric from rural schools.

Besides, students belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families would be given free education, he added.
