''Media is excessively used as the marketing tool by the film makers and in this process several inferior films turned out to be block buster'', Ms Joshi told to the sources during a visit here along with her husband film director Vivek Agnihotri.
Small screen is also exploited by the film industry very usually for marketing and publicity, she said.
Pallavi Joshi, who received National Award for Best Supporting Actor and Special Jury Award for film 'Woh Chhokari' in 1993, donned the greasepaint for movies at the tender age of three and did more than 85 serials.
''Most people want to come into film industry without proper training and polish. They should furbish their skills first and then try their fortunes'', Ms Joshi added.
Pallavi, who had worked with several distinguished directors like Shyam Benegal, Govind Nihalani, Hrishikesh Mukharjee, Amol Palekar, Sudhir Mishra, Subhash Ghai and Nabendu Ghosh, is now excited about her home production 'Asambhav', being telecast on ZEE Marathi.
''I am not doing much work for the sake of my two kids. I dont want them to astray and lead an ultra-mod life sans Indian values and culture,'' asserted the actress.
Stating that her role in Mrignayani serial was quite challenging, she said she had a tough time to live upto the character's lifestyle. ''Though I was underweight at 40 Kg, Amol Palekar insisted to portray me as the main character as 'beauty with brain'. On being asked about her role in 'Making of Mahatama', she suddenly agreed for the role as it taught her how to be invulnerable in the face of turbulent times.
''Shyam Benegal gave me several books on Mahatma Gandhi to imbibe the character of young Kasturba'', she recalled, adding Rohini Hatangadi's role in ''Gandhi'' was different.
