AU to host Inter Varsity Volleyball tourney from tomorrow

Visakhapatnam, Dec 5 (UNI) Andhra University would host a six-day South Zone Inter University Volleyball tournament for men starting at Visakhapatnam from tomorrow Talking to newspersons here today, The University Physical Education Director and Organising Secretary M Sayam Baby said 48 out of 77 Universities from South would participate in the tournament.

He said the top four teams in the tournament would qualify for the All India Inter Zone tournament to be conducted by Ambedkar Marathwada University in Aurangabad from December 16.

Mr Sayam said the tournament would be held on knock-out-cum league basis.

He said as many as 576 players were expected to participate in the tournament.

Annamalai University won the tournament last year at Salem, he added.
