New Delhi, Dec 4: Yamaha Motor Company today rolled out two zippy 1,000 cc bikes, the YZF-R1 and MT01, priced at Rs 10.5 lakh each to scorch the Indian roads.
Yamaha, which forayed in India in 1985, has been struggling in the domestic market with a fall of 54 per cent in sales. ''The launch projects our future in India and how our future business will shape up. We want to re-establish ourselves as a company delivering technologically high quality and high performance products,'' company CEO and MD Tomotaka Ishikawa told reporters here.
Both R1 and MT01 models will be imported as completely built units.
Starting from today, the sports bikes will be available in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Ahmedabad, which will be followed by 10 more cities.
