Shiv Sena calls for bandh over Bhinderanwale portrait issue
Jalandhar, Dec 4 (UNI) The Shiv Sena (Hindustan) today gave a call for state-wide bandh on December 14, if the Punjab government failed to remove the portrait of Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale from the museum of Golden Temple by December 13.
While accusing the state government of ''being instrumental in erecting the portrait'', Shiv Sena (H) senior deputy president Vinay Jalandharihe lashed out at the Punjab government and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during a press-conference here today.
''By this move, the Akalis have insulted the Sri Harminder Sahib. If anything happens on December 14, the state government would be responsible,'' he declared.
He also called upon Bharatiya Janata Party, the alliance partner of the Shiromani Akali Dal, to oppose the act.
