Kohima, Dec 04: The Naga Students' Union, Delhi (NSUD) will organise a protest rally in New Delhi late this afternoon to demand from the Centre a proper dissolution of the political crisis in Nagaland.

In a statement to the local dailies here, the NSUD President Thejasenuo Meyase said that Nagaland had undergone more than 60 rounds of talks since 1997. However, no convenient solution has so far been chalked out.

He also said that a peaceful protest rally will march from Mandi House to Parliament Street today at 1330 hours, demanding from the Union Government to spell out its political decision in "clear terms" on the genuine aspirations of the Naga people and will urge the Centre to take steps that will help implement the core aspiration of the Nagas to preserve and nurture their unique political identity.

The NSUD stated that the Centre should give up its "old" ideas regarding the situation in Nagaland and its conflict as being merely an internal issue and look at the issue with a more "open mind".
