New Delhi, Dec 4 (UNI) The Delhi Police today claimed to have arrested a man who posed himself as an inspector of the force and solved a case of abduction and rape of his 20-year-old sister-in-law, who went missing from her house in Mangolpuri in north-west Delhi in October this year.

The parents of the girl had lodged a complaint about her disappearance in the Mangolpuri police station on October 4. A massive hunt for the girl by her family members and the police went in vain.

Yesterday, the victim came to her house on her own and told her parents that her brother-in-law Salim, a resident of Mangolpuri, had forcibly abducted, confined and repeatedly raped her at various places in the capital and other cities.

She also alleged that Salim posed himself as an inspector of the Delhi Police.

A case against the accused was registered under sections 376, 366, 420, 417 and 343 of the IPC.

The possible hideouts of Salim were raided and he was arrested from a rented accommodation in Mundka village.

During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. Two uniforms of inspector rank of the Delhi Police were also recovered from his possession.
