Ranchi, Dec 4 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today granted time till December 14 to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and three others in connection with case RC 39A/96 of Dumka treasury of the multi-crore rupee fodder scam.
Mr Vidya Sagar Nishad, Dr Rabindra Kumar Rana (both former Ministers) and former Animal Husbandry officer Dr K M Prasad were three others accused in the scam.
Justice R R Prasad passed the order while hearing a writ petition filed jointly by them.
The court granted time because senior advocate of Mumbai High Court Mahesh Jethmalani was not present in the court.
The CBI refused to file fresh counter affidavit in this connection.
Mr Rajesh Kumar, appearing on behalf of CBI, today informed the high court that the investigating agency would go for an appeal against an earlier order, passed by the lower court.
According to the order, the court had issued summon to Mr Prasad and others.
Against the lower court order, Mr Prasad and other accused filed a writ petition before the high court.
The court after hearing the matter had directed the CBI not to take any coercive step against them.
The earlier order of Jharkhand High Court that coercive action against Mr Prasad and others should not be taken would continue till further order.
