Ambala, Dec 4 (UNI) In a big haul, police today unearthed a factory manufacturing fake 'desi ghee' in Milapnagar locality of Ambala City last night.
During the raid conducted by the city Police, over a quintal of spurious desi ghee packed in different sizes of packets with trade mark ''Meera'' was recovered, police said today.
Following the seizure, police arrested Anil Kumar, owner of the factory in Milapnagar, who had been running the illegal business for a long time.
Anil was produced in the court from where he was remanded to Police custody for five days.
The ghee, made from vegetable fat mixed with artificial essence, was mostly marketed in rural areas to save complications.
Police also recovered stamps and wrappers and other material used to make and market the 'ghee'. Samples were taken by the experts for examination.
