Czech Govt delegation calls on TN Speaker

Chennai, Dec 4 (UNI) A high-level Czech Republic Government delegation headed by the President of the Senate of Czech Republic H E Premysi Sobotka today called on Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker Avudaiappan.

This was primarily a goodwill visit to commemorate the completion of 60 years of trade relationship between India and Czech Republic, an official release here said.

Mr Sobotka was acompanied by two ministers from the Industry and Trade and Finance, group of Senators, senior Government officials, the Czech Ambassador H E Hynek Kmonicek and the Chairman of Skoda Export Company J Hubacek.

Due to cordial relationship between the two countries, Skoda Export of Czech Republic had constructed a number of engineering Industrial units across the country.

Skoda Export had submitted a proposal in November 2006 to the State government to invest about Rs 10,000 crore by putting up a power plant of 2,000 MW, integrated bio-diesel project of the capacty of one million MT and a modern minor port at Ennore site of 1,200 acre as a joint venture operation with TIDCO, the release added.
