New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) Top leadership of the CPI(M) converged here today to prepare the draft political resolution for endorsement by the party Central Committee, taking stock of the political developments and organisational matters.

The two-day meeting of the party Polit Bureau, highest decision making body of the party, however, did not take up for discussion the Indo-US nuclear deal, the Nandigram issue or the controversy arising out of shifting of Bangladeshi novelist Taslima Nasreen from Kolkata.

''The main agenda of the Polit Bureau is to finalise the draft political resolution, which has to be endorsed by the three-day party Central Committee meeting, beginning March 20,'' Polit Bureau member and senior party leader Sitaram Yechury said.

He said once the resolution was endorsed by the Central Committe, it would be circulated among the State committees for their approval.

''This will be thoroughly deliberated in the Party Congress to be held in Coimbatore from March 29 to April 2,'' he added.

Mr Yechury said neither the civil nuclear cooperation deal with the US nor the Nandigram and Taslima Nasreen issues were discussed.

Earlier, during the Lunch recess, Chairman of the ruling Left Democratic Front in West Bengal Biman Bose told mediapersons that peace was fast returning to Nandigram.

Mr Bose, who is also the CPI(M) state Secretary, said an all party meeting over the issue would also be being organised at the earliest.

On West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi's statement, who visited Nandigram yesterday that people were still living in fear in the strife-torn region, Mr Bose said Mr Gandhi had played cricket with village boys. ''But he was bowled out the very first ball.'' Mr Yechury was more emphatic in his reply to the incident, saying ''you should not indulge in things about which you don't know much''.

On Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee's decision to visit Nandigram today, Mr Yechury replied in a casual manner ''So what, in a democratic set up every one has the right to go anywhere.'' CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhdeb Bhattacharjee, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and senior party leader Ms Brinda Karat among others participated in the deliberations.
