Kumbakonam, Dec 4: A local court has adjourned to December 6 hearing in the case registered against popular Kollywood actor Kushboo for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.

When the case filed by a Hindu Munnani functionary came up for hearing last evening, the Second Additional District Munsif-cum- Judicial Magistrate Court adjounred it to December 6 for recording sworn-in statement of the complainant and witnesses.

After facing ire over her remarks on pre-marital sex, the actor had courted another controversy for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Hindus, by sitting cross-legged wearing her chappals pointing towards the idol of 'Mupperum Deviyar' -- Goddesses Lakshmi, Parvathi and Saraswathi -- during the Muhurat of a Tamil film ''Vallamai Thaaraayoh'' in Chennai recently.

The Hindu Munnani activist Gurumruthy had filed a complaint on November 28 before the court alleging that she had ''disrespected'' Hindu Gods and sought action against her for hurting religious sentiments.

Two more complaints were filed in different courts in this connection.
