Chennai, Dec 3 (UNI) Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today signed a MoU with SASTRA University to facilitate higher education opportunities to all 'TCS Ignite' trainees.
The arrangement would allow the trainees who join TCS after completing BSc to enjoy the best of both worlds in gaining valuable practical experience from the industry, while at the same time, securing a Masters' degree from the university, a TCS release here said.
With this tie-up, the graduates can not only secure employment in the IT industry ,but also take advantage of the opportunity to register for and complete course work and examinations leading to a MCA Degree from SASTRA.
The unique relationship between TCS and SASTRA emphasised on participative industry-institute interaction adding diversity to the teaching-learning mechanisms.
This attempt would not only enhance the academic profile of the Ignite associates, but also provide a platform for continuous learning, which was an integral part in any work environment.
TCS's reputed training would now have formal academic recognition as part of a degree programme.
This was an innovative collaborative arrangement between TCS and SASTRA, wherein 50 per cent of the required coursework would be delivered by TCS Ignite training and the rest by a mix of on-line and blended learning.
Ignite trainees who successfully completes three years with TCS would be eligible for the MCA Degree.
The first batch of Ignite trainees who joined in December 2006 would sign up for this course by end December end, the release added.
