Shimla, Dec 3 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh BJP Mahila Morcha president Roopa Sharma today said the tenure of the present Virbhadra Singh Government was full of corruption and anti-woman policies.
Addressing a press conference here, she said the Morcha would urge the BJP high command to reserve fifty per cent seats for women in local body elections.
The Congress Government has failed on every front, including price hike issue, unemployment and to maintain a woman specific law and order situation, she said.
''No concrete policy was made during the Congress regime to empower the woman. The BJP is the only party which has given 33 per cent reservation for women in its organisation and has always fought for the empowerment of the women.'' Ms Sharma said one Chief Minister of the BJP, Shanta Kumar, was known for solving the water problem and while second Chief Minister, P K Dhumal, was famous for starting self help groups for women.
She alleged that this state government has also damaged the image of Himachal Pradesh which was known for honesty and morality, since the Chief Minister's wife was found demanding money in a CD while the minister had invited bar girls in his birthday party.
