Pathanamthitta, Dec 3(UNI) Security would be strengthened at Sabarimala Sannidhanam and Pamba from December five to seven in view of 14th Anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition on December six.
According to police sources Commandos, Bomb-squads and Shadow- patrol teams would be deployed at vulnerable points in the premises of Ayyappa Temple, Malikappuram Bhagavatty temple and Pampa Ganapathy temple from Wednesday.
Armed guards would be posted to protect essential installations like water storage tanks, pumping stations electrical sub-stations electrical transformers. Commandos would provide security cover to temple ponds in Bhasmakulam.
Pilgrims would not be allowed to ascend the 18-scared steps after the closure of the temple at 1700 hrs.
Temple Sopanam would be monitored by ten armed policemen round the clock.
Depositing of money in the Hundi at Thirunada would be banned.
Use of mobile phones would be prohibited at Sannidhanam. Police would keep a watch on the flow of pilgrims right from Vadasserikkra.
The ghee brought by the pilgrims as offering should be deposited in a vessel kept at tht flyover leading to Malikappuram.
Door-Frame Metal Detectors would be installed at Pampa and Sannidhanam. If need be, 'Erumadi Bundles' would be examined by police.
Police personnel from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka would also join the special security team.
