Jaipur, Dec 3 (UNI) The Congress today said the holding of Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership conclave in Jaipur by the Vasundhara Raje Government was a mere election-oriented political gimmick and was unlikely to bring claimed industrial development in the sstate.
Talking to reporters here today, AICC spokesman Mohan Prakash said this government had never exhibited its seriousness on the developmental agenda during its four-year long regime and the Chief Minister had "wasted" time in settling issues with "detractors" within the council of ministers and ruling BJP state unit.
Mr Prakash said the "non serious" step of holding the two day conclave was also aimed at getting some catchy slogans for facing the masses in the election year. " If the Chief Minister or the ruling party was at all willing to address the need of investment and industrialisation, it would have made this move two or three years earlier." Moreover no prominent group or house of Rajasthani industrialists participated in the meet. "Either they were lacking in faith and confidence in the BJP-led government or they were not invited in the meet", he added.
Mr Prakash also ridiculed the Chief Minister's claims regarding speedy development during her four year regime and said that the present government had contributed nothing to development but it merely used the infrastructure created by the previous Gehlot government.
The Congress leader said since the government had failed miserably to provide governance from day one, people were annoyed and were looking ahead to assembly elections to vote the BJP out of power in the state.
