Patna, Dec 3 (UNI) The state government is all set to sign a Memorundum of Understanding(MoU) with Larsen and Tubro(L&T) to train two hundred youths as construction workers.
According to official sources, engineering major L&T has already agreed in a dialogue with the state government to provide training to untrained youths to enable them in securing jobs.
''It would be a pilot project under the aegis of the state government and L&T for providing vocational training and its certificates to the youth,'' sources said.
The sources maintained that it was a unique effort to enhance the economic condition of these youth and an opportunity for them to stand in competitive job market which would immensly help them to acquire required livelihood.It would be a self employment generating vocational training with the help of ITIs, the sources said adding there were lot of job opportunities for less educated youth in trades like plumbing, wielding, carpentry and masonry.
Indian economy was undergoing rapid transformation and was expected to change and evolve considerbly in the near future but economically poor and untrained youths were lagging far behind due to non-committal responses from both the ends, the sources said.
''It is essential to phase out the unpopular trades and start courses in demand trades and train the youth with updated techniques so that they could sustain in the competitive job market,'' the sources added.
