H K Patil resigns opposition leader's post in Kar Council

Bangalore, Dec 3 (UNI) Senior Congress leader H K Patil today resigned as the leader of the Opposition party in the Karnataka Legislative Council.

According to official sources Mr Patil has sent his resignation letter to Chairman Karnataka Legislture Council Professor B K Chandrashekhar.

Mr Patil's decision to quit followed absence of a popular government in the state following dissolution of the assembly after BJP led coalition government collapsed even before seeking vote of confidence.
