Free travel facility to disabled ex-servicemen

Chandigarh, Dec 3 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to give the free travel facility in Haryana Roadways buses to the disabled ex-servicemen in the state.

Making this announcement on the occasion of the World Disabled Day, the Chief Minister said the facility would be admissible to only those disabled ex-servicemen who would be suffering from atleast 25 per cent disability.

He said a proposal in this regard was discussed in the 38th meeting of the Rajya Sainik Board held here recently and he had taken a sympathetic view in this regard.

The Haryana Roadways was already providing concessional or free travel facility as a social obligation to deserving sections of the society which included 100 per cent handicapped persons with one attendant, the blind, freedom fighters, students and unemployed youth going for interviews.

The state government had recently extended free travel facility in State Roadways buses to 100 per cent deaf and dumb and national youth awardees.
