Informing this to reporters here today, KPCC President Mallikharjun Kharge said the Congress' intention was to create political awareness among peope and explain the failure of coalition government which led to political uncertainity in the state.

The yatra would be held on December eight in Shimoga and in Bijapur, Gulbarga and Raichur on December 17,18 and 19 respectively.

The Congress party was preparing for the ensuing Assembly elections, he said.

Asked whether JD (S) Dissident Leader and Former Home Minister M P Orakash would be joining the Congress, Mr Kharge clarified Mr Prakash had not approached him.

''The doors of the Congress are always open to those who want to join it. But they should abide by its principles,'' Mr Kharge said.
