Mumbai, Dec 3 (UNI) A designated MCOCA court today convicted Vishnu Pilankar, a close aide of underworld don Chhota Rajan, for firing on a Nagpur-based builder N Kumar in 2004.

Pinalkar was convicted under various sections of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), Indian Penal Code (IPC) and others by designated Judge M R Puranik, who will pronounce the quantum of sentence on December six.

Pilankar fired at Mr Kumar in suburban Andheri while he was travelling in his car. Interestingly, Mr Kumar had financed the Sunjay Dutt-starrer hit film, 'Vaastav', which was produced by Chhota Rajan's brother Deepak Nikhalje, who has now become a politician.
