AIADMK demo condemns undeclared power cut

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 3 (UNI) Members of the Tiruchirapalli rural district unit of AIADMK under Sri Rangam Assembly constituency MLA Paranjothi staged a slogan shouting demonstration in front of the Panchayat union office at Andhanallur near here today, condemning the Tamil Nadu government's undeclared power cut in the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Paranjothi strongly condemned the state government for not taking steps for adequate power generation and not properly maintaining the existing power plants.

This caused the severe power crisis and the farming operations in the state have come to a grinding halt, he claimed.

The undeclared power cut also adversely affected the industrial sector in the state.

In Karur district similar demonstrations were held at 12 places, while in Karur town it was led by former AIADMK Minister and the party's organising Secretary M Chinnasamy.
