Panchkula, Dec 2 (UNI) Delhi Jets had a smooth sailing against Hyderabad Heroes whom they beat by five wickets in the third match of Indian Cricket League Twenty20 Championship here today.
Set to score 142 runs for victory, Delhi Jets, who were grounded in their first match by Chandigarh Lions who won by nine runs, achieved the target by scoring 143 for 5 with 14 balls to spare.
The easy victory was made possible by opener Taufeeq Umar who remained not out on 52 with six fours and one six compiled in 41 balls.
He and Abbas Ali (43 (31 balls, 6x4s) realised 78 runs for the third wicket as they took the total to 113 for 3 from 35 for 2.
Umar and opener Mohnish Mishra (23) put on 32 runs for the first wicket before the latter was caught by Inder Shekhar Reddy of the bowling of Azhar Mahmood (1 for 21).
Hyderabad Hereos' captain Inzamam used as many as eight bowlers but failed to get the desired result.
