PM will be urged to take up Tamils' issue with Malaysian Govt

Chennai, Dec 2 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said he would urge Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take up the ethnic Tamils' issue with the Malaysian Government and find a solution.

Chairman of Malaysian Ethnic Tamils' Committee Vedamoorthy, who called on Mr Karunanidhi at his residence here this evening, apprised him of the plight of the ethnic Tamils in Malaysia.

The Tamil leader quoted Mr Karunanidhi having told that he (Karunanidhi) would talk to Dr Singh to take up the issue with the foreign government to rach a solution.

Vedamoorthy said the Committee was also planning to move the United Nations Organisation, urging it to intervene into the matter and protect the rights of the Tamils.
