Miscreants loot Rs 13 lakh from BSNL staff

Cuttack, Dec 2: Armed miscreants looted Rs 13 lakh from the BSNL employees at gun point in the city and fled away injuring one of them.

Police said the BSNL employees were carrying the amount from their Link road office to deposit in the Bank near the High Court square yesterday when four miscreants in two motor cycles intercepted the vehicle and looted the money at gun point.

One BSNL employee was injured when the miscreants fired at him before fleeing with the booty.

Police had rushed to the spot immediately and sealed all the exit points. An intensive search operation was on to nab the miscreants, Cuttack Superintendent of Police Soumendra Priyadarshi said.
