Kohima, Dec 02: Crisis deepened in the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) after resignation of Minister Kheto Kinimi and Parliamentary Secretary Kihoto Hollohon last evening, official sources today said.
Information and Public Relation Minister Kheto Kinimi, who is also the forest minister, said that he had resigned in protest against the prevailing law and order situation and the rising prices of essential commodities in the state.
However, Mr Hollohon had refused to give any reason for his resignation.
Besides, Roads and Bridges Minister Tokheho Yepthomi and Parliamentary Secretaries P Chuba Chang and Jongshilemba had resigned from the DAN Ministry on Wednesday last.
State Cabinet Secretary Lalhuma had notified that Governor K Sankaranarayanan had accepted all the resignations with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the political observers have presumed that the resigned DAN leaders might join a national political party to fight the next Assembly polls.
