Tirupati, Dec 2: Leading Paediatric Endocrinologists from Asia-Pacific, the UK and Europe are expected to participate in the four-day meet 'International Update in Paediatric Endocrinology' to be held in Mumbai from February 14 to 17 next year.
Talking to mediapersons here yesterday, Organising Committee Secretary-General Nailini Shah said the meet, to be held at Tata Memorial Hospital, would be organised jointly by Indian Academy of Paediatrics-Paediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology Chapter (IAP-PAEC) and Asia-Pacific Paediatrics Endocrine Society (APPES) with the support of European Society for Paediatrics Endocrinology (ESPE).
The main theme would be 'current trends in diagnosis and management of paediatric endocrine disorders', he said.
''We are planning to hold interactive and mini-poster sessions for practising paediatricians during the meet. The subjects to be taken up for discussion during the sessions were molecular basis of paediatric endocrine disorders: clinical lessons from genetic mutations, endocrine disorders in pregnancy: impact on fetus and newborn, growth, endocrine and metabolic consequences of IUGR, decision-making in neonatal endocrinology,'' he said.
The meet would provide a good learning experience, an excellent opportunity to exchange information and promote academic, technical and scientific collaboration between the APPES and the ESPE, he added.
