Double delight for Kapil Khanna, Team WSFR corners glory

Chennai, Dec 2 (UNI) Team WSRF cornered glory in Round one won all all the five races with their driver Kapil Khanna making it a double delight winning two races of the first round of the third J K Tyre Junior Cup road racing championship at the MMSC race track at Irungattukottai near here today.

Kapil Khanna and his teammate Vinoth brought glory to their team by winning Races three to five, Kapil winning races 3 and 5, Vinoth Race four. Starting 3rd on the grid, Kapil romped home to record his first win in the championship. A brilliant performance from Sudanand Rajan after starting last on the grid, saw him finish in second place just a whisker ahead of teammate Prithveen Rajan.

Race 5 was embroiled in a controversy when the lady racer Alisha Abdullah of Team Rams Racing car being hit from behind by Rohit Khanna of Team WSRF Racing.

Alisha was leading at the time when her vehicle was hit, resulting in her non completion of the race. Rohit Khanna's rash driving earned him a penalty, pushing him to fourth place and pushed the second placed Kapil Khanna to his second win of the day.

Prithveen his teammate who finished third and fourth were elevated to second and third places.
