Dacoits loot van carrying Rs.41.24 lakh
Panaji, Dec 2 (UNI) Five masked dacoits waylaid a van carrying Rs.41.24 lakh meant for distributing salaries to staff of Chowule mining industry, and decamped with the cash at gun point at Loutolim in South Goa yesterday.
The bandits in another car chased the van from Kesarval earlier, till they reached Loutolim and looted the incumbants of the cash packed in bags.
The van with the cashier and security guard was to reach Pali and Shirgao mines for disbursing salaries, police said.
No one has been arrested so far and the police laid a dragnet to apprehend the culprits besides alerting all the police stations in the tourist state and also neighbouring states as a precautionary measure.
