Water Conservator of India award to B H Jain

Chennai, Dec 1: Founder-Chairman of Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd B H Jain has been conferred 'Water Conserver of India' award, instituted by UNESCO and West-Net.

According to a company release here today, Union Minister of Water Resources Saif-Ud-Din Soz presented the award to him at a function held in New Delhi yesterday for his yeomen service to the cause of water conservation.

Till date, the company had received 46 State awards, 85 national awards and three international awards for its outstanding export performance, R and D achievements and entrepreneurship and fair trade practices.

The internationally prestigious 'Crawford Reid Memorial' award instituted by US-based Irrigation Association was conferred on Mr Jain for his significant contribution to the irrigation industry outside the US, the release added.
