Nagpur, Dec 1 (UNI) The Shiv Sena will hold a rally of farmers to demand complete waiver of their loans here tomorrow.

Shiv Sena Working President Uddhav Thackeray would preside over the rally and would also evaluate the proceedings of the winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature that concluded here today, party spokesperson Neelam Gorhe told UNI.

The rally was the second phase of the party's 'Deta Ka Jata' (Give or Go) agitation for loan waiver for the distressed farmers of the state, especially Vidarbha region, Ms Gorhe said.

The party had last month staged a rally on foot from Mozri in Amravati district to Nagpur, she said.

The incumbent Democratic Front (DF) had promised in its manifesto for the 2004 Assembly elections that it would waive farmers loans and provide free power to them, she said. However, after coming to power, DF leaders were trying to wriggle out of the promise by describing it as a 'printing mistake,' and by calling the farmers in Vidarbha 'lazy,' she informed.

Ms Gorhe added that tomorrow's rally here would be addressed by Leader of the Opposition in the state Legislative Assembly Ramdas Kadam, Shiv Sena leaders Manohar Joshi, Subhash Desai and Diwakar Raote.
