Pak skipper Shoaib Malik ruled out for three weeks

Kolkata, Dec 1 (UNI) Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik was ruled out for at least three weeks after suffering hairline fracture in left ankle.

Pakistant cricket team manager Ehsan Malik told UNI, '' Yes, Shoaib's leg was plastered today and it will remain for seven days.

The plaster wil be opened on December five. '' Asked if Shoaib was out of the series, he said, '' We could not say that yet. Let us see what happens. '' '' He has been advised rest and we will take it from then on, '' Malik stated.

Meanwhile, sources at the hospital where Shoaib was treated said the Pakistani all rounder would be out of action for at least two to three weeks.

This could effectively rule out Shoaib's chance of playing the third and final test against India.

The manager also confirmed that medium pacer Sohail Tanvir was down with viral fever and administered intravenous fluid.
