Barwani, MP, Dec 1 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said the government was making sincere efforts for uprooting poverty.
Mr Chouhan, while addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate for Khargone Lok Sabha seat Krishnamurari Moghe, said the Opposition was demanding his resignation as it was afraid of these efforts.
He alleged that by-election to Khargone was caused due to a conspiracy by the Congress, which did not like the BJP working as per people's wishes.
Commenting steps taken for the welfare of farmers, women, teenagers and other sections, Mr Chouhan said these steps were being implemented effectively.
The BJP has fielded Mr Moghe again as its candidate from Khargone, while state Congress President Subhash Yadav's son Arun Yadav was Congress nominee.
Later, Mr Chouhan left in a helicopter without interacting with newspersons.
