CCTVs and metal detectors for tight security cover at courts:IG

Jaunpur, Dec 1 (UNI) Alarmed at the increase in terrorist activities in the state, an action plan to strengthen the security at courts is being prepared, Inspector General (Varanasi Zone) Dr Kashmeer Singh said today.

CCTVs and Metal detectors might be installed at the courts to keep a strict vigil, the IG added.

Meetings between senior police and judiciary officers would be held to discuss the action plan under which tight security cover for district courts', including Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Sonebhadra and Santravidas Nagar districts would be considered, he maintained.

After this, security at the residence of Judges would be decided.

''A list of people, having ten yrs of criminal background, has been prepared and a hunt for other wanted criminals launched,'' Mr Singh informed.
