Actor urges AP Govt to ensure special status for Telugu
Tirupati, Nov 30 (UNI) Renowned matinee idol Akkineni Nageswara Rao today said Andhra Pradesh Government should exert pressure on the Centre to provide special status for Telugu language.
Addressing a nine-day Telugu Basha Bramhotsavulu festival here, Mr Rao, regretted the neglect of Telugu, an ancient language, known for its significance in the world.
State Cultural Organisation president Darmavarapu Subramaniam lauded Telugu Samskruthi Vikasavedeka (TSVV) president and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust Board Chairman Karunakara Reddy for their efforts in organising festivals successfully.
Mr Subramaniam said necessary support would be provided to bring Telugu language on the mainstream.
