Uttar Pradesh: SOG arrests a wanted naxalite

Lucknow, Nov 30: The Special Operation Group (SOG) of police arrested a wanted naxalite, carrying a bounty of Rs 50,000 on her head, in Naugarh area of Chandauli district.

In February 2002, a band of naxalites had murdered Sanjay Singh, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Shahabad division in Bihar.

Notorious Kiran Kol was also wanted in connection with the killing.

On being tipped-off, cops cordoned off the Majgava area yesterday and swooped upon Kiran from her residence at village Majgava.

The CBI had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on her head. Her brother, also wanted in DFO's killing, is still at large and carrying a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head.
