Sugar prices rise on improved bulk consumers' demand
Navi Mumbai, Nov 30 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices today advanced by Rs 10 per quintal on renewed brisk buying support from bulk consumers and sweetmakers and less stocks arrival from co-operative mills, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchant's Association said.
Prices of small and medium grades (per quintal) rose by Rs ten and Rs five respectively due to reduced offers from stock-holders.
Ex-mill small and medium grade sugar also rose by Rs 15 per quintal each on sustained heavy demand from big dealers, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,345/1,396, Medium grade: Rs 1,385/1,470.
Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,325/1,350 and Medium grade: Rs 1,365/1,420.
