Salgaocar emerge league winners to enter semis

Chennai, Nov 30(UNI) Salgaocar Sports Club emerged the winners in Group 4 without losing any match in their group defeating Sambalpur Football Academy by a brace of goals in the last league outing in the Nike Manchester United Premier Cup Qualifying Tournament here today.

Pandhari Chopdekar and Allwyn Fernandes scored for Salgaocar, who will meet the winners of Group 2 in the second semi final.

However, in Group 1, Mumbai Football Club, Mumbai, Barca Football Club, Gujrat and Cosmos, Tiruvallore notched up five points each. But Cosmos, Tiruvallore qualified for the semifinals on better goal average.

They will meet the winners of Group 1 in the first semifinal tomorrow.
