Minor girl gets bravery award posthumously
Aizawl, Nov 30 (UNI) A minor girl, from Kawrtethawveng village in Mizoram, will be posthumously awarded the prestigious Geeta Chopra Award, 2007, a national bravery award for children between 6-18 years of age.
Lalrempuii had died while trying to defend herself from her rapist on September 14 last year.
Sources said the rapist was still roaming scot-free.
Her parents will receive the award from President Pratibha Patil on January 26 on the occasion of Republic Day at New Delhi.
