Chennai, Nov 30 (UNI) Continuing the stir against the Centre's plans to make one year rural service mandatory for getting the MBBS degree, medicos here have decided to form an All India Medical Federation (AIMF) to rope in students from other parts of the country.

According to Federation of Tamil Nadu Medical Students and House Surgeons spokesperson Janikaram, a group of students would leave for Mumbai soon where they would meet students from other States - Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Orissa and Delhi.

The meeting in Mumbai would decide on the formation of the AIMF and the future course of action if the Centre faiLs to meet their demands.

Dismissing Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss's allegation that the doctors' protest was confined only to Tamil Nadu, the spokesperson said it was an all India issue as medicos from other states were also opposing the proposal.

''The students in these states are waiting for their exams to get over and we believe they would join us in our protests next week,'' he added.
