Madhuri's 'Aja Nach Le' banned in UP

Lucknow, Nov 30 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government tonight banned the Yashraj Banner film 'Aja Nach Le', following controversy over lyrics of the title track.

According to state Principal Secretary (Home) J N Chamber the film, which hit the silver screen today, had been banned across UP with immediate effect. The state government wrote a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, urging him to ban the Bollywood flick across the country.

Mr Chamber said directives had been issued in the state to immediately ban the film. ''We banned the film, following apprehension of breaking of law and order due to certain comments on a particular Dalit community.'' Early today, the Indian Justice Party activists also took to the streets in New Delhi, demanding an immediate ban on the film.
