Dubai, Nov 30 (UNI) Madhuri Dixit's ''biggest fan'' MF Husain, often known as Madhuri Fida Husain, went to great lengths to ensure the ''Gaja Gamini'' had a great welcome here.
More than 200 audience thronged yesterday at the special premiere of Madhuri Dixit's much-awaited comeback film ''Aaja Nachle'', for which the legendary artist had booked an entire show for special guests.
The show was a coming together of a winning combination of the artist and his muse.
The idea of organising a special show of the movie struck me only four days ago but it culminated in this special event, Khaleej Times quoted a visibly satisfied looking Husain as saying.
''I was playing this one blind fold,'' he said at the end of the show adding that he was not aware of what the film would be like, he said. ''I enjoyed it very much.'' The spontaneous applause and catcalls from the audience whenever Madhuri gyrated to the rhythms of songs and flashed her dazzling smile proved that the people had thoroughly enjoyed the film, he said.
The guests did not only watch the movie but also got the autograph of Husain on the 'invite' (movie ticket) and a sketch of the Bollywood queen.
Mr Husain also exhibited paintings of Madhuri in the foyer of the theatre. ''I have made these paintings based on her great hits,'' he said.
The artist was mobbed by fans vying for his autograph and waiting to be photographed with him before and after the show.
Appreciating the talent, beauty and grace of the Indian actor, Mr Husain said, ''She is the quintessence of classical Indian beauty and womanhood. I want others to enjoy the film with me. It's a tribute to not only her beauty, but also her talent as an actress.'' ''Why me, even Ashok Kumar, the doyen of Indian cinema once said that in his 60 years of being in films, he had yet to come across someone like her, someone with her talent, grace and looks,'' he added.
When Madhuri came to know about this gesture of her biggest fan, with her killing smile she said, ''I feel very flattered indeed!'' UNI
