his
stand
on
the
issue
of
'ouster
of
Chief
Minister
Narendra
Modi',
former
state
Chief
Minister
Keshubhai
Patel
today
said
he
was
ready
to
provide
''guidance''
to
the
party
and
be
a
BJP
man.
Speaking to the agencies in a late night interview, Mr Patel said, ''In my six decade long public career, I had always been working for the party, earlier called Jan Sangh and then changed to BJP, and will continue to work for it.'' ''I have always been an elderly figure to the BJP and will continue to act that way,'' he said, adding that he had yet not decided to whether or not to actively participate in the campaiging for the elections to be held on December 11 and 16.
The softening of Mr Patel's stand will definitely benefit the BJP in securing the votes of the powerful Patel community.
